John Dayton Daw, Sr, age 82, of Farmington IA (rural Clark County, Missouri) passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2003 in University Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. He was born January 20, 1921 at Wayland MO, a son of Harry S and Eleanor Murphy Daw. On October 19, 1940, he was united in marriage to Phoebe L Cox at Alexandria, MO. Survivors include his wife, Phoebe, of Farmington IA; three sons, James Harold Daw and his wife, Nida, of Montrose IA, John D Daw, Jr and his wife, Mary of Farmington, IA and Colin L "Spike" Daw and his fiancé Mary Williams, of Alexandria, MO; two daughters, Jean Pezley and her husband, Roger, of Kahoka, MO and Kay Williams and her husband, Ron of Hannibal MO; two brothers, Tommy Daw of Kahoka MO and Harry Daw and his wife, Norinne, of Rock Island IL; 19 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; as well as nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents. John was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy. He was a member of American Legion Post #231 at Farmington IA and of VFW Post # 9082 at Warsaw IL. He was a retired 37 year employee of Sheller Globe in Keokuk and was an avid fisherman. He also loved music, "tinkering" and building things. He was especially happy when spending time with his family. Funeral services were held Sunday, November 2, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Rev Dan Deatrick officiating. Mrs Jeanne Daw was pianist.
