Mary Evelyn Deskins, 85, of Urbana, passed away Monday, September 20, 2010 in Vancrest of Urbana.
She was born June 17, 1925 in Grundy, Virginia the daughter of Charles Mutter and Cora Deskins.
Mary retired from Urbana City Schools, where she served as a cook in both North Elementary and Urbana High School. She was a member of the Urbana Church of Christ in Christian Union.
Mary is survived by her son, David (Karen) Deskins of Urbana; grandson, Brandon (Erin) Deskins, 2 great granddaughters, Ashleigh and Morgan.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy W Deskins; her sister, Julia Deskins and her brothers, Emory and Cohen Mutter.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, September 23, 2010 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana with the Rev Dr Kevin Horrigan officiating. The family will receive friends from one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana.
