FUNERAL RITES THURSDAY FOR W. P. BRANHAM
Funeral rites will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 at the local Baptist church for William Price Branham, 77, who died Tuesday morning at Blessing hospital, Quincy, Ill.
Thompson Funeral Directors have charge of arrangements and Rev. Frank Oslin, assisted by Rev. L. V. Brown will conduct funeral services. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. cemetery here.
Mr. Branham was born Feb. 8, 1879, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Branham of Montgomery City. He was married to Stella Brooks Archer in 1930. She died May 20, 1950.
Mr. and Mrs. Branham moved to Shelby County soon after marriage and farmed near here until his retirement when they moved here in 1946.
Survivors are four brothers, James H. and Benjamin L. Branham of Elsberry; Melvin F. of Danville and Henry Branham of Palmyra; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Harcather, Florida and Mrs. Sarah L. Williams of Kansas City and six stepsons, E. P. Archer of Shelbyville, Charles of De Ridder, La., W. B. of Springfield, Mo., Raymond of St. Louis, Calvin of Seymoure, Ind., and Mitchell Archer in the Army Service in Texas and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Leona Cunningham, of Pittsburg, Pa., and Mrs. Berry Amos of Dayton, Ohio.
