Funeral services for Mr. Daniel R. Boles, 90, of Jonesborough, were conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2004, from the chapel of Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home in Jonesborough.

Burial was in Maple Lawn Cemetery with Mike Wilhoit officiating.

Mr. Boles died Sunday, September 5 at his home. He was employed by Gulf Filling Station in Jonesborough for several years before retiring. He was an avid flea marketer and was one of the six original individuals who started the Jonesborough Flea Market.

A United States Army veteran of World War II, he was considered a warm, loving, and kindhearted husband, father, and grandfather, and a giver to all who knew him. His love for his children was tremendous. He may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.

He was the son of the late Sam P. and Sarah Elizabeth (Phillips) Boles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Mae Boles; a sister, Maggie Lilly; a brother, Marvin Boles; and a daughter, Julie Carroll Laws.

Survivors include two sons, Bobby Randolph and his wife, Jeannette, of Melbourne, FL, and Carl "Babe" Randolph and his wife, Janice, of Jonesborough; two sisters, Lorrell Clouse and Susie Ann Boles, both of Burlington, NC; 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; a niece, Barbara Cooper of Florida; and two great nephews, Kevin Cooper and Stephen Cooper, both of Florida.

Pallbearers were Ricky Laws, Nick Kent, Johnny Troutman, Tom Roark, Jack Ratliff, and Lynn McInturff.
