He never got married.

He served in the military during WWI. There's very little (if any) information regarding his military service. A hear say story plassed on to me that he served in the Army as a spy. We do not have any proof of this to be true or fiction. Edgar was the oldest of the four boys of Hattie and Billy Brown. He lived all of his life in the Big Ivy Community except the time served in the Army. He owned a farm that his brother Dixon farmed. They had some type of agreement that Ed would live in the house with Dixon, Myrtle and family until Dixon purchased a farm 1949 and moved away. Ed lived most of his life centered on his farm. He didn't do any farming but had odd jobs from time to time. He never visited any of his brothers but they all lived close so he keep informed. When he died he had two farms, in Hardin and in nearby Wayne County. He had bank accounts in Savannah and Florence, Alabama. During his lifetime he saved most of his money and spend very little on himself or anyone else. I never knew of him having any type of automobile or truck. He seldom went to Savannah or any other places. If he did he would hitch a ride with someone. He was in the hospital 1969 when James, Billy and myself (George) went to visit him and got him to make out a will and prepaid his funeral expenses. He seemed to appreciate us doing this for him. He died 1973 and the will was a great help in disposing his estate.
