Herman McRae "Jack" Adams

Herman M. Adams passed away on July 17, 2011, at the age of 94.

He was born in Elbert County, GA. He served in WWII in the Army Air Corps - 15th Army, 456 Bombardment Group, in Italy as a Technical Sergeant.

Afterwards, he moved to St. Augustine, FL., where he met and married his wife, Alice Lyon Mayo. They moved to Tallahassee in 1951 where he was employed with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles until retiring in 1982.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alice M. Adams, daughters, Rebecca Adams, Cynthia Hensley, Faye (Lee) Webb, Priscilla (Joe) Eubanks, and his son, Jonathan (Kathleen) Adams. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Roselawn Cemetery on Thursday, July 21, 2011, at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.

Herman is the brother in law of William & Marian Welch Mayo, both whom are buried in Culley Meadow Wood Memorial Park in Tallahassee.
