The remains of John A. Hein, who died at the home of his son George, in Council Bluffs last Sunday morning, arrived on Tuesday. The funeral was held on Wednesday at 9:30 from St. Patrick's Catholic church conducted by Father Nodler, interment in the Catholic cemetery. Mr Hein was born in Germany, January 5, 1820 and came to this country in 1851 after his marriage to Lucy Stutchener. He located in New Buffalo, Michigan where he resided until his removal to Corning in 1860, where his wife died in March 1895. Mr. Hein continued to reside in the city of Corning until about three years ago when he went to Council Bluffs. At the time of his death he was aged 86 years and 19 days and the cause of his death was mainly old age. Deceased was the father of eleven children, eight of whom, five sons and three daughters survive him. They are J. J. Hein of Plattsmouth, Neb., Mike Hein of Minot, N. D., George Hein and Mrs. Mary Swassing of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Anna Donohue and Mart and Will Hein of Corning. - Adams County Free Press, 10 Feb 1906
