Wilma was a resident of Marshfield, MO for two years moving from Ava. She worked for Baxter Laboratories, Mtn. Home, AR for 21 years and also worked for Timex Watch Factory for seven years. In May of 1944 Wilma and Clay Allen Runnels were united in marriage and to this union three children were born. Mr. Runnels preceded in death. In Nov. of 1974, Wilma and Basil Souder were united in marriage. He preceded in death in 1984. Wilma was a member of the Souder Church of Christ. She was also an active member of the Red Hats Society and the Almartha Quilting Club. Wilma enjoyed gardening and most of all being with her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Clay Runnels and Basil Souder, two sons, David Clay and Larry Wayne Runnels.
Her survivors include, one daughter, Janice Kay Jeter, Texarkana, TX, three step children, Zula Height, Wimberly, TX, Janet Casey and Patsy Land both of Oklahoma City, OK, daughter-in-law, Gay Runnels, four grandchildren, Steven Jeter, Brandy (Jeter) Shouse, Jory Runnels and Cinnamon (Runnels) Keith,
five great grandchildren, Ashley, Christian, Kaylee, Natalie and Cutter Clay and a host of other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, June 1, 2007, 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with E.J. Hampton officiating.
A graveside service will be Monday, June 4, 2007, 10:00 A.M. at the Elmwood Memorial Cemetery, Abilene, TX conducted by Girdner Funeral Home, Abilene.
Local arrangements are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home; Ava, MO.
