Lyle Andrews, age 90, of Bemidji, MN died Thursday, July 8, 2004 at Havenwood Care Center in Bemidji. Interment will be in Ten Lake Township Cemetery, Beltrami County, MN. Honorary bearers will be Mary Jo Weber, Roxanne Rengstorf, Christine Fogelquist, Valerie Port, Robin Port, Nancy Smith, Mae Vermeersch, Sally Jaranson and Martha Hanson. Casket bearers will be Lonnie Littler, Brandon Smith, Sheldon Williams, Dustin Vermeersch, Larry Dahl Jr., James Dahl and Ronald Andrews. Lyle Richard Andrews was born May 22, 1914 in Bay City, Wisconsin to Albert and Hilma (Johnson) Andrews. He grew up and attended Forest Home School. At the age of 13 he began working for his uncle. On January 9, 1934 Lyle married Sadye Morrison. The couple moved to Bemidji for a short time before returning to Wisconsin where Lyle farmed on a large dairy farm. Lyle and his family moved back to Bemidji in 1956 where he worked at Kenfield Lumber and Wintersteen Trucking. He also worked as a security guard at Bemidji State University, following retirement from the lumber company. In addition to these jobs, Lyle farmed from 1956 until the late 1970's. Lyle provided a home to many families over the years. He enjoyed going to the fair for the horses. He also liked dancing and music, and was proud to be a farmer. He enjoyed being with his family and attending big parties. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Lyle is survived by his wife Sadye; daughters: Alice (Roy) Littler, Nashwauk, MN, Judy Gilchrist, Bemidji, Ruth Ann (Cleon) Smith, Shakopee, MN, Lenore (Jack) Vermeersch, Bemidji; foster daughter Mary Dahl, Bemidji; daughter-in-law Joy Andrews; 17 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; sisters: Grace Skarman, Ellsworth, WI, and Gladys Odden, Maiden Rock, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Lyle Richard Jr., foster son Larry, one granddaughter, two brothers, and one sister.
