Funeral services for Mr. James "Tom" Thomas Abner Sr., 61, of Cookeville, were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2005, from the chapel of Rickman-Hall Funeral Home with Roger Cooper officiating.
Burial was in West Cemetery in Putnam County.
Mr. Abner died Friday, March 18 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Born May 21, 1943, in Putnam County, he was the son of Lillie Martha (Henley) Abner of Cookeville and the late Johnny Otto Abner.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Wanda Abner of Cookeville; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom Jr. and Patricia Abner of Cookeville; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Angelia Marchelle and Timothy Cooper of Cookeville and Tonya and Chris Moore of Sparta; 6 grandchildren, Tara Abner, Toshya Abner, Tommy Abner, Kayla Abner, Steven Carew, and Kanzadie Moore; and a great grandchild, Alexis Abner.
Pallbearers were Danny Murphy, Chris Moore, Tom Abner Jr., Matthew Abner, Estel Bilbrey, and Timothy Cooper.
