Michael Charles Abbadessa 49, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on April 1, 2011. Michael Abbadessa was born on Oct. 31, 1961 in New Haven Ct. He graduated from A.S.U. and then owned and operated a successful Italian restaurant.
In 1995, he chose to serve his country by joining the U.S. Navy. He was a Hospital Corpsman and then became an Advanced X-Ray Technician. In 2007 Michael served at the Office of Attending Physician U.S. Congress until 2010. During Michael's distinguished Naval career, he was awarded the Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy & Marine Achievement Medal (3 awards), Good conduct medal (5 awards), National Defense Service Medal (2 awards), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Navy & Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon (3 awards), Expert Rifle and Pistol Marksmanship Medal and numerous Letters of Commendation.
Michael was not only a Distinguished Seaman he was a beloved Son, Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle and Friend. He had a "Heart of Gold" and will be missed beyond words. Mike, we Love you and will always cherish the time we had with you.
Michael Abbadessa is survived by wife Bich-Thuy, daughter Allison, mother Virginia, and father Charles, sister Charlotte, brothers: Phillip, Charles, and Joseph, and 6 nieces and 4 nephews.
