Andrew J. Mashburn, 72, lifelong resident of Gordon County, died at his home near Resaca Friday, February 15. He was the son of the late James Mashburn and Elizabeth Ashworth Mashburn of Gordon County.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jennie Jones Mashburn; four daughters, Mrs. Ernest Glass and Mrs. Grady Robinson, of Atlanta; Mrs. C. G. Robinson and Mrs. Curtis Simerly of Dalton; four sons, Troy H. Mashburn, Sr. of Dalton; Sgt. James C. Mashburn of Manila, Luzon; Floyd and Rembert Mashburn of San Francisco, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Will Ellis of Dalton and Mrs. Sam Dean of Ringgold, and eight grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at Corinth Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. S.P. Chitwood and the Rev. E. F. Cobb officiated. Music was rendered by the Hall-Bohannon quartet.
The following nephews acted as pallbearers: Irving Mashburn, Robert and Tarver Luffman, George Jones, and Gordon and Leonard Dean.
Burial was in the Corinth Cemetery.
