Thomas H. Wilcox, 72, prominent Ontonagon resident who died at Davis Island Municipal Hospital, Tampa, Florida March 6, 1956, where he was hospitalized following a head injury received in a fall at his home at Anna Maria Island, Florida. on Feb. 22. Mr. & Mrs. Wilcox had been vacationing in Florida
Mr. Wilcox was born 6/12/1883 in Calumet. He attended school at Hancock and graduated from Michigan College of Mining & Technology, Houghton in 1905.
Following graduation, he was employed by Calumet & Hecla Mining Co. in Ontonagon County. Later he was employed at White Pine until 1931 after which he was retained by the Copper Range Co. as a consulting engineer.
He was appointed a director of the Citizens State Bank on which board he served continuously as a director and on many occasions as chairman of the board.
He served as supervisor of Carp Lake Twp. from 1911 to 1935 and was Ontonagon Co. Road Engineer from 1937 to Jan 1956. Mr. Wilcox was a member of the Ontonagon Rotary Club.
Surviving are his wife and 1 daughter Mrs. Robert Zaruba of Milwaukee & his mother, Mrs. James Wilcox of Pestigo, Wi.

Funeral services for Thomas H. Wilcox, prominent Ontonagon resident who died at Tampa, Florida 3/6/1956 following a fall of Feb. 22 were held Sunday from the family residence at 510 Conglomerate St.
Officiating were John Heldbrink, minister in charge of the Church of the Ascension Episcopal and the Rev. James P. McKeever, pastor of the Methodist Church. Burial made in the Catholic Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Glen Trevarrow, Joseph Meagher, Steven Kioski, Emil Platzke, Charles Gerber, Paul Kaiser, Michael Scovia, & Ben Kioski.
Honorary pallbearers were Duncan Cameron, E.J. Tousignant, C.L. Marley, Ralph Watt, Jr., Newton Cuneo, L.W. Reynolds, William E. Ryan, Leo Perron, Kenneth Hama, Lloyd Allen, D.E. Crooker, Roy L. Muskatt, Fred Rogers & E. Hahtala.
