Shirley Post, 75, passed away at her home after an extended battle with cancer. She was the sixth of seven children born to Melvin Jordan and Florence Moore. She married Eugene S. "Stan" Post August 25, 1950, in Idaho Falls. She was survived by her husband, two sisters, Gladys Woolf of Provo, Utah, and Dallas Hatch of Salt Lake City, three sons, Michael Post of Seattle, Washington, Kim Post of San Jose, California, and Kelly Post of Augusta, Georgia, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren, all of whom love her dearly.

Shirley was a licensed practical nurse and worked at many hospitals over a period of twenty-five years as she and Stan moved around the country for his work. She had a knack for painting and decorating the many homes where they lived and had a natural skill at crafts. She created beautiful quilts, floral arrangements, afghans, glass etching, rugs, sewing, and many other creative projects. Shirley was a determined survivor. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1979 and endured a long and difficult regimen of chemotherapy. She had a miraculous recovery in a time when ovarian cancer meant almost certain death. In 1999, she was diagnosed with colon cancer. After more surgery and chemotherapy, she returned to good health until 2004 when the colon cancer recurred. Shirley was appreciative of all of the sacrifice and service rendered by family, friends, and neighbors. She often expressed her gratitude for the blessing of life and of being born into a wonderful family in Idaho.

Funeral Services held Friday, August 24, 2007, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, with Bob Crowley officiating
