BUTLER, ADELE F., 83, passed away at 8:30 p.m., Sunday, January 28, 2001, at D'Adrian Convalescent Center in Godfrey; Mrs. Butler was born on July 13, 1917 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Robert E. and Florence M. Vaughn Kehoe; she married Edward L. Butler on January 5, 1946 in St. Louis, he preceded her in death on January 19, 1974.
Mrs. Butler was employed as a sales clerk for Famous-Barr in St. Louis for 10 plus years before retiring in 1975; she then became a full time homemaker.
Survivors include (2)daughters, Lindsey F. Butler of Alton and Christy L. Butler of Jefferson City, Missouri; also surviving are (2) sons,Timothy E., wife (Sharon) Butler of Jerseyville and Terry A. Butler of Godfrey; (3) grandchildren, Jason E. Butler, Melissa A. Butler and Adam R. Butler, all of Jerseyville; (1) sister also survives, Irene M. Kehoe of East Alton; she was preceded in death by both parents; 2 infant children, Allen E. and Claudia V. Butler; and a sister, Anna Marie Parker.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2001, at ELIAS-SMITH Funeral Home, Alton, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., on Wednesday, January 31, 2001, at Elias-Smith Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimers Association, the American Diabetes Association or the charity of the donor's choice.
