Earl was the son of James Ralph Smith and Mary Magnolia All Smith


He was brother of Carl Mason Smith
Anna Margaret Smith-Howe
Helen Mae Smith-Poff
James Ralph Smith Jr.
Daniel Webster Smith
Rebecca Anne Smith-Mathews

He was married to Mildred Pease on 12-20-1947 in the First Baptist Church, Terre Haute, Indiana.
Their children are Michael; Frances; & Earl.

He moved to South Bend, Indiana, and because of his health concerns, the family eventually moved to Phoenix Arizona where he died shortly after the family arrived.

He was buried in Tucson where his sister and her family resided at that time.
