Son of Frank C and Mabel Neeley Anderson. LLB graduate of Houston Law School and admitted to the Texas State Bar in 1936. Veteran of World War II. As a member of the U. S. Naval Reserve, spent almost five years on active duty in thet Pacific aboard ammunition ships and battle ships. At the end of the war, he was a supply officer and paymaster of the USS Massachusetts.
