Mary C. 'Mayme' Burnett, 89, of 208 North Market Street, Carmichaels, died at 8:52 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 1983. She was born August 10, 1893, in Carmichaels, a daughter of Wesley N. and Jennie Flenniken Crago. She was a descendant of Elias Flenniken, one of the first settlers of Carmichaels. Her husband, William Fred Burnett, died in 1963. Mrs. Burnett was a lifelong resident of Carmichaels. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carmichaels, where she sang in the choir for 70 years. She was also a member of the Carmichaels Rebecca Lodge for many years. Surviving are two sons, William H. Burnett of Carmichaels and Frank Burnett of Euclid, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Ruth) Stewart of Wheeling, W. Va., and Mrs. Jane Groves of Carmichaels; five grand-children, and three great-grandchildren. Two sons, Leonard C. and Robert, a brother, George, and a sister, Florence Baily, are deceased.

Friends of Mary C. 'Mayme' Burnett of 208 North Market Street, Carmichaels, who died Saturday,March 19, 1983, will be received in the Paul Lesako Funeral Home in Carmichaels from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the hour of service on Tuesday, March 22, with the Rev. Bernard L. Shuey officiating. Burial in Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels.
