JOHN GARDNER FUNERAL HELD IN BALLARD

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon of last week in the Ballard Ward Chapel for John Alma Gardner, 88, who died in a Salt Lake hospital of causes incident to age.

Mr. Gardner was born December 21, 1880 in Wallsburg, a son of Charles Alma and Martha Timothy Gardner. He married Ella Eldora Pike, June 12, 1904 in Vernal. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died June 7, 1909.

He married Alice Jane Payne Long May 2, 1912 in Vernal. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died January 25, 1954. He married Myrtle Parker. She died July 13, 1962.

Mr. Gardner was an active member of the LDS Church, having served a Northern States Mission. He was a High Priest and had served as clerk of the Ballard Ward.

Survivors include sons and a daughter, Ear;, Delmar, both of Roosevelt; Mrs. Ed (Ina) McQurrie, Beaver; Howatd, South San Francisco; Harold, San Jose, California; stepsons, Winfred Long and Dorsen Long, both of Roosevelt; 31 grandchildren and 68 great-grandchildren.

Brothers and sisters, Janet Larsen, Oakland, California; Cora Belden, Toledo, Ohio; Czar Rdy and Delma Long, both of Roosevelt; Owen Rudy, Ogden; Olive Miller and LaRue Wardle, both of Springville and Carnelia Wells and Thelma Young, both of Orem.

Burial was in the Vernal Memorial Park Cemetery.
