According to his death certificate, he was the son of ? (John) Goldie and Martha Thornton both born in England. He was the brother of Alice Martha Goldie Davis, also buried in Evergreen. The July 18, 1909 Tombstone Weekly announced he and Mary Jane Moore had filed a marriage license application with the probate court. He was a retired miner at the time of his death at age 56 owing to liver cancer. He was buried on 24 January 1932.
