Walter B. Allison
Walter Burke Allison, 78, 133 Portsmouth Road, Gallipolis, died Sunday morning in Holzer Medical Center.
Born Dec 9, 1905, in Clark County, and reared in Mudsoc, son of the late Arthur B. and Estella Gallagher Allison, he was a meat cutter at Evans Grocery in Gallipolis, owned Gallipolis Market for several years, and retired from Allison Electric.
A member of the Bethesda Methodist Church, he was also a charter member of the Horseshoe Pitching Association Hall of Fame.
He married Goldie Brown Allison, who survives, on Nov. 20, 1929, in Columbus.
Also surviving are a daughter, Vivian e. Allison of Detroit, Mich.; a son, Roger B. of Waverly; three brothers, H. Ray and John, both of Gallipolis, and Foster of Hobe Sound, Fla.; a sister, Blanche Lutz of Dunedin, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Willis Funeral Home, with the Rev. George Wolfbrandt officiating. Burial will be in Neal Cemetery, Mudsoc. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. today in Willis Funeral Home.
