Stuart}; educated at Shenandoah Academy, Winchester, Virginia; Virginia Military Institute, Lexington, Virginia, & the University of Minnesota at Minneapolis; graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1894; editor with West Publishing Company, St. Paul, Minnesota; moved to Northport, L. I. in 1897 to become an editor for Edward Thompson Company, a law book publisher, located in Northport; in 1899, he married Mary Brown, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. H. C. Brown; father of Juliet [Mrs. William] Lang of Glen Ridge, New Jersey, & Margaret [Mrs. B -?- ] Rogers of Northport, L. I.; he was well-known the field of legal publishing; editor of the "American and English Encyclopaedia of Law"; author of a number of legal textbooks; assisted with the compliation of the United States Code for the federal government; he was the "oldest member of the editorial staff of the Edward Thompson Company in length of service"; member of the Northport Yacht Club; funeral services at Trinity Episcopal Church, Northport, L. I.
