COOPER, DONALD R. - age 63 of Powell, passed away at home December 4, 2011. He was of the Baptist faith. He was co-owner and operator of Coops Auto Repair for many years. Donald was an avid NASCAR fan and loved car racing himself. He raced many times at Atomic Speedway, Tazewell Speedway and Bulls Gap Speedway. He was a loving husband, father and brother. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, John E. and Elsie M. Breeden Cooper. Survivors:
Wife: Anita Cooper; Sons: Austin Moore and wife Mabrena, Joshua Moore and wife Charlice; Daughters: Michelle Mize and husband Eddie,Jaime Elliott and husband Carl, Sara Novak; Brothers: Ronald Cooper, Michael Cooper and wife Betty, Tommy Cooper; Sisters: Shirley Shultz, Barbara Anderson and husband Tommy; Grandchildren: Michael, Nicki and Chuckie Mize; Austin, Catelyn and Dylan Moore; Lance and Connor Novak; Lukas and Jesse Moore; Great Grandchild: Nick; Special Friend: Jimmy Monroe and wife Shirley. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 7th from 6-8 pm at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will follow with Father Stephen Freeman officiating. Graveside service will be Thursday, December 8th at 12:00 pm at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Clinton. Pallbearers will be Leon Anderson, Joshua Moore, Austin Moore, Carl Elliott and Calvin Cooper. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
