RIPLEY – Joshua Jeffery "Josh" Martin, 18, died Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at Tippah County Hospital as the result of an automobile accident. He was born Oct. 27, 1993, in New Albany to Ricky and Ginger Menees Martin. He was a student at Ripley High School and a member of First Baptist Church. He loved hunting, fishing, baseball, riding four-wheelers, roping and riding, but most of all he loved God and his family.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Ripley with Dr. Rex Yancey and Bro. Bill Baker officiating. Burial will be in Tippah Memorial Garden in Ripley. McBride Funeral Home of Ripley is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his parents, Ricky and Ginger Menees Martin of Ripley; one brother and sister-in-law, Casey and Mary Beth Martin of Ripley; and a very special brother in Christ, Richard Roberson of Blue Mountain.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Peggy Jefferies Menees, and James K. and Anna Belle Linville Martin; and an uncle, James Allen Mcnees.
Pallbearers will be Richard Roberson, Ben Wallis,Will Wallis, Jonathan Morrison, Shawn Hill, Keith Lowry, David Nance, Jimmy Dale Roberson and Michael Nance.
Honorary pallbearers will be Emily Rainer and the RHS baseball teams, past and present.
Visitation will be from 7 a.m. until service time today at the church.
