McKinstry, Jean 89, of Hastings, Michigan, died Sunday, August 7, 2005. Mrs. McKinstry was born June 14, 1916, in Tonica, Illinois the daughter of Frank and Bessie (Patterson) Alleman. Jean was active as a Cub Scout leader when her sons were involved in scouting and a former member of the VFW 40&8 in Lansing. She enjoyed coordinating community activities in Thornapple Lake neighborhood and her bowling leagues.

She is survived by daughter Gail (Cliff) Perkins of Dimondale, sons James (Janet) McKinstry of Hastings and Ronald R. McKinstry of Mason; 8 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Edward McKinstry.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday August 11, 2005 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, MI with Reverend Norm Burger officiating. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Lansing, MI. Visitation will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Pray Funeral Home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Thornapple Manor or Alzheimer's Association.
