Son of Lyman and Cynthia (Canfield) Beebe.

In 1861 he married Ellen Mary Ross, daughter of Norman and Jane Alice (Blakeslee) Ross.

Enlisted as a Private on September 6, 1862 in
Company H, 143rd Pennsylvania Infantry. His brother Amos Canfield Beebe served in the same Company and Regiment. Received a disability discharge on 11 Aug 1863.

He and his brother, Amos, settled in Clearwater, Kalkaska County, MI in the Spring of 1867, having followed the Ross Family to Kalkaska County. In 1876 he was elected sheriff of the county and moved to the village of Kalkaska. He also was engaged in farming.
