Miss Carolyn Ruth Ferguson, 76, passed away at her home on Wednesday, November 30, 2011.

Carolyn was born April 4, 1935 in Jackson to the late Howard C. and Cynthia Craven Ferguson. She attended Forest Hill High School for 12 years, graduating in 1953. She then attended Hinds Junior College and Draughon's Business College.

Carolyn was a member of Alta Woods United Methodist Church and in past years a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She loved music and was a member of choirs of Hinds Junior College, Forest Hill and Alta Woods United Methodist churches. She had also taught children and primary choirs at Alta Woods UMC.

Carolyn retired from the Mississippi Department of Transportation after 43 years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Ferguson, and sisters-in-law, Kay Ferguson and Terry Ferguson.

Survivors include brother, Howard C. Ferguson of Wescosville, PA; nephews, Howard Ferguson and Michael Ferguson; and several cousins. She also leaves her beloved dog, Honey, and her cats.

Visitation will be 4:00-7:00pm Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral services are 1:00pm Thursday in the funeral home chapel with interment in Lakewood Memorial Park.
