Wife Of Dr. Harry Jenkins Dies After An Extended Illness

Mrs. Ethel D. Nicholson Jenkins, wife of Dr. Harry Jenkins, of this city, dial here, Tuesday afternoon, at one o'clock, following an illness of several years. Although in poor health for sometime, Mrs. Jenkins' death came as a shock to the city and entire community.

Funeral services, which were largely attended, were conducted at the Baptist church, Thursday morning, at 10 o'clock, with Interment in the St. Louis cemetery. Rev. M. E. Williamson, pastor of the local Baptist church, administered the funeral rites.

The deceased, who was 40 years of age, was born in Crowley, and received her education in Lafayette. The Jenkins moved to this city several years ago. Immediately after the World War. Before coming to this city Dr. Jenkins had practice his profession in the Prudhomme community.

In addition to her husband. who 5s associated with the Eunice Clinic and Hospital, Mts. Jenkins is survive! by her father, W. II. Nicholson, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, two brothers, William Nicholson, of New Iberia and Charles Nicholson, of New York city : a sister, Mrs. Gene Bryce. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a half-sister, Mrs. Albert Nicholos of Hot Springs, Arkansas and a half-brother, Harold Nicholson, of Los Angeles, California.

Mrs. Jenkins, a semi-invalid for the past several years, bore her affliction wonderfully, was possessed of a sweet disposition, and loved by all who made her acquaintance.

Before being forced to retire to her home, because of her illness the deceased was extremely active in social church and charity circles, being a devoted member of the Baptist church and assisting in the direction of Sunday School work and other auxiliary of the local church.
