China Relief Expedition Medal of Honor Recipient. Born William Henry Murray, he served in the military as Henry W. Davis. He was a Private in the United States Marine Corps. His citation reads "In the presence of the enemy during the action at Peking, China, 21 July to 17 August 1900. During this period, he distinguished himself by meritorious conduct." His Medal was issued under that name of "William Henry Murray"
