He passed away on Saturday June 25, 2011 at his home in Florida.
Alfred was born on October 15, 1945 in Borger, Texas to Horton and Elsie Brooks Darden. He graduated from Athens High School in 1964 and he had lived in Florida for the past several years. He retired as a contract telephone equipment installer and was a Baptist. He was a veteran of The United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother James Keith Darden.
Alfred is survived by his mother Elsie Darden of Athens a son James Marlin Darden of Dallas, a sister Bonnie J. Graham and husband Paul of Chandler. Two grandchildren; Skylar Darden and Amber Darden, 2 nieces and 3 great nieces.
