Veteran Gonzales Fireman Dies Here After Long Illness

Last rites will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. from the Seydler Funetal home for Marlin O. McGee 61, who died after a lingering illness at the Holmes hospital at 6:20 p.m. Monday.
The Rev. Roy H. May, pastor of the First Methodist church of which he was a member, will conduct the services with interment to follow in the Odd Fellows cemetery.
The deceased was born on January 13, 1894 in Seguin. His parents were Duncan and Alice Martin McGee, natives respectively of the states of Tennessee and Alabama.
On November 22, 1925, he and Miss Lena Shock were married and had made their home at 904 St. Peter street. He had seen services with the signal corps during World War I, and had been a member of the Methodist church since a young man.
A fireman of the local Fire Depart, McGee had lived here since 1933, having previously lived in Yorktown and also in Dan Antonio before coming to Gonzales. His father preceded him in death in 1933.
Survivors include his wife; his mother of San Antonio; brothers Fuffie McGee of Yorktown; Wess McGee, San Antonio; sisters, Mrs. Jessie Foulds, Houston; Miss McGee, Miss Katie McGee and Mrs. Marlin Dawson, all of San Antonio; and Mrs. J. J. Griffin of Texas City.
