Bruce Brown, native of Henderson county and brother of Mrs. J.E. Barfoot of Athens, died Sunday night at 11 o'clock at his home in Lubbock. He had been in ill health for about three years.

He was born on July 7, 1882, on Route 1 Murchison, and was engaged in farming in that community until about sixteen years ago, when he moved to Lubbock. He was a member of the Lubbock Police Force for about fifteen years.

He was married to Miss Eva Brewer of Edom in 1905, at Edom.

He was a life-long member of the Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Clyde Brown of Levelland, and Audrey and Wayne Brown, in the Armed Forces; one daughter, Mrs. Paul Hall of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Barfoot of Athens and Mrs. J.W. Barfoot of Jayton; two brothers, Guy and Ed Brown of Jayton; and five grandchildren.

Mrs. J.E. Barfoot left Athens Monday for Lubbock.
