He lived in Shousetown until October 1857 when he bought a farm in Liberty Township, Jackson Co., OH, and lived there until 1902. He moved to 30 Park Street, Jackson, Jackson Co., OH in 1902 and lived there until his death.
He was a shoemaker and farmer until about 1879 when he quit shoemaking and farmed full time.
He was in the Co. K, 172nd Regt, Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War.
