Rita Jean Barnes, 69, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004 at Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach, FL of cancer.
She was born July 9, 1935 in Healy to Ellsworth and Dorothy Ensley Stewart.
She had lived in Dighton and Leavenworth. At the time of her death she was living in Merritt Island, FL. She married Rodger Barnes on July 3, 1979. He survives.
She also is survived by a daughter Tammy Humbert of Cincinnati; a son Benjamin Barnes of Kansas City, MO; a brother Rolland Stewart, Claflin; four sisters: Janice Tarvin of Brighton, CO; Beth Pike of Healy; Wanda Bean of Waterville; and Diane Brown of Lansing; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother Ronald Dean.
The memorial service was at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2004 at Wylie-Baxley Merritt Island Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.
