MRS. MARTHA JANE SHOOP, widow of Denton I. Shoop, died at her home, 2409 Virginia avenue, Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m., after a short illness, age 77.
Born and reared near Funkstown, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Jane Clark, and was a member of the Beaver Creek Christian Church.
She is survived by: daughters, Mrs. Beulah Paulsgrove, Beaver Creek; Mrs. Frederick Sprecher, Tilghmanton; Mrs. Joseph Reese, Boonsboro; Mrs. Jane Douglas, Washington, D.C.; sons, Edgar R. Shoop, Chewsville; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Cora Line, Clearspring; Mrs. Ida Lapole, Catonsville; Mrs. Annie Neal, Rohrersville; Miss Nina Clark, this city; Mrs. Mary Hartman, Halfway, and Miss Virginia Clark, in the west; brothers, William Clark, Halfway; Omer Clark, Funkstown, and Joseph Clark, Missouri.
The body was removed to the A. K. Coffman funeral ome where services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Dr. William Norment officiating. Interment in the Dunkard cemetery, Beaver Creek.
