Mrs. Rie Cooley

A memorial service for Mrs. Rie Marie Cooley, 37, of Spotsylvania County will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church. The Rev. Mark V. Ogren will officiate, and burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Cooley died of cancer Monday, Sept. 22, at her residence.

Born in Okinawa, Japan, she previously taught earth science at Courtland High School.

Survivors include her husband, Steve Cooley; two sons, Teren Cooley and Ty Cooley, both of the home; her parents, David and Sawako Laboissierre of Spotsylvania; two sisters, Leona Sachrison of Los Angeles and Lillian Bullock of Stafford County.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Rappahannock Big Brothers/Big Sisters, 400 Princess Anne St., Fredericksburg, Va. 22401; or to Mary Washington Hospice, 406 Chatham Square Office Park, Falmouth, Va. 22405.

Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
