Earl Richard
Earl Richard Mattox, 69, of Rt. 2, Leon, died Friday, Dec. 1, 1995, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio.
He was a former employee of the West Virginia Malleable Iron Company in Point Pleasant and at the McClintock Wildlife Station in Mason County.
Born Aug. 23, 1926, in Leon, he was a son of the late Charles Homer and Cora Jane (Elliott) Mattox. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, a sister, and a grandson.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel (Rollins) Mattox; three daughters, Jeannie Mattox, Carolyn Russell and Diane Melton, all of Leon; two sons, Junior Mattox and Richard Mattox, both of Leon; three brothers, Clarence Mattox of Leon, Holley Mattox of Columbus, Ohio, and Arthur Mattox of Fort Clinton, Ohio; four sisters, Grace Rollins of Cambridge, Ohio, Disa Priddy of Fort Clinton, Ohio, Dolly Eads of Columbus, Ohio, and Dorothy Thornton of New Haven; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be Sunday, 1 p.m., at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home with the Rev. Herman H. Jordan officiating. Burial will be in the Jackson Yauger Cemetery, Leon.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday, 6 to 9 p.m.
