Rose Sharon (Shipwash) Leach Croxton died Sunday, April 04, 1993, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born Monday April 12, 1937, in Springville, Lawrence County, Indiana, to Jennie Lorinda (Brinegar) and Harry Theodore Shipwash.

She graduated from Oolitic High School in 1955, where she played in the band and performed in "The Gypsy Troubadour" (Operetta) in February, 1954. Rose worked as a Secretary for the U.S. Government, the Lawrence County Clerk's office, and the City of Bedford at the H St. Headquarters Station of the Bedford Fire Department. She loved music, reading, writing, art, decorating, gardening, and animals, particularly cats. She also excelled at cooking and needle arts such as knitting, and French couture crochet, and was an extremely talented seamstress. She personally created the off-white suit she is wearing in this photo.

She first married Jack D. Leach, and they had three sons: Jeffrey Dan, Jerome David, and James Dana Leach. They were divorced after several years and she later married Ralph J. Croxton. They had one son, Patrick Christian Croxton.

Survivors include her sons, Dan and Dave Leach and Patrick Croxton, all of Bedford; two sisters, M. Verna Shipwash and Vivian L. Shipwash, both of Bloomington, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunts and Uncles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grandparents, her son Jim Leach, and her Aunt, Leatha Shipwash.
