James D. "Jim" Leach died June 9, 1991 as the result of a traffic accident. He was born in Bedford, Indiana on September 02, 1960 to Rose Sharon (Shipwash) Croxton and Jack D. Leach.

He attended Needmore Elementary and Junior High School and Bedford North Lawrence High School, then served in the U.S. Army.

Jim was an accomplished Fifth Generation Stone Cutter and worked in various Stone Mills, both in the Bedford, Indiana Stone Belt, and in the area of Katy and Houston Texas for over fourteen years. His three brothers, Maternal Grandfather, Maternal Great Grandfather and other family members also worked in the stone industry in various capacities and at various locations.

Jim married Sue Ellen Beedie of Bedford in 1984. They had no children and later divorced; Jim was single at the time of his death.

He was survived by his parents, Rose Sharon Croxton of Bedford, Jack D. Leach of Texas, three brothers, Jeffrey Dan (Lisa) Leach of Bedford, Jerome David (Joyce) Leach of Bartlettsville, and Patrick C. Croxton of Bedford.

Visitation was held at Day & Carter Mortuary in Bedford on Wednesday, June 12, 1991 and the funeral was at 11:00am on Thursday, June 13, 1991 in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial was in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
