DeLoris Porter
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove for DeLoris J. Porter of Vancouver, Wash., lifelong resident of Lane County, who died Dec. 5 of age-related causes. She was 94.
She was born June 1, 1917, in Cottage Grove, to Walter and Edna Grigsby Pitcher. She married Lawrence Porter on June 9, 1935, in Eugene. He died Sept. 11, 1996.
She and her husband lived on the Porter Century Farm, later known as the Porter Christmas Tree Farm. She taught ceramics in her studio at the farm.
Survivors include two daughters, Terry Healy of Camas, Wash., and DeLoris Jensen of Vancouver, Wash.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A daughter, Lynne Porter, died in 1998.
Burial will be at Fir Grove Cemetery in Cottage Grove. Remembrances to the Cottage Grove Order of the Eastern Star Cancer Fund.
