Jeannine M. Symmonds, 46, Iowa City, Iowa, died peacefully in her home among family and friends on Tuesday, December 9, 2003. Jeannine was born September 4, 1957 in Indianapolis, IN, the daughter of Jack and Edna (Moore) Murrell.She graduated from Shortridge High School, Indpls., in 1975. Jeannine graduated with honors with a degree in Dance from Indiana University in 1979 and her MFA in Dance from the University of Iowa in 1990. Jeannine married Scott A. Symmonds June 19, 1982, in Indpls.The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 13 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Iowa City. Calling: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12 at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, Iowa. A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Symmonds Children Catholic Education Fund (to be established at Hills Bank & Trust Co.)Survivors include her husband, Scott of Iowa City; her two daughters, Victoria and Olivia, both at home; her father, Jack Murrell of Indianapolis; two sisters, Denise (Bill) Farrell of Indianapolis, and Dianne (Greg) Mitro of Ft. Wayne; five brothers: Tom (Susan) of Columbus, OH; Bob (Kathy) of Berment, IL; Ed Murrell of Salt Lake City, Utah; Matt (Stacey) Murrell of New Palestine; Michael of Stone Belt; and many nieces and nephews.
