Troutdale resident, Arcacia Aranda, died at her home on Wednesday, December 7, 2011. She was 86.
A Funeral Mass will be held 11AM, Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at St. Henry's Catholic Church. Private Interment will fallow at Willamette National Cemetery.
Arcacia Mendez was born January 22, 1925 in Wilmington, California. She graduated from Banning High School. She married Eugene Aranda on March 16, 1947 in San Pedro, California. They raised their children there and after Eugene retired, they moved to Estacada.
Arcacia enjoyed walking, sewing crocheting, collecting rocks, making dolls and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Michael Aranda of Milwaukie; daughter Jean Figman of Gresham; Lori Christiansen of Gresham; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Acracia was born in Wilmington Calif. Married Eugene Aranda in 1947. She is survived by three children, Michael (Marjie), Jeannie (Michael), Lori (John). Mom had six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mom loved to sew, crochet and knit. As she got older she was a walker and walked two miles a day. There will be a Catholic Mass at St. Henrys Church on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 11 a.m. Luncheon to follow. Mom will be missed by all of us and it will be a sad place for us without her.
