Dorothy H. Briggs, 84, known as Dolly to all who loved her, passed away December 8, 2011 in DeLand, FL. Born June 17, 1927 in St. Paul, MN, Dolly grew up in Fort Pierce, Florida and graduated from Fort Pierce High School, class of 1945.

She married James Ozro Briggs and together they ran Briggs Veterinary Hospital, in Fort Pierce, for 36 years. Dolly was a former member of Community United Methodist Church in Fort Pierce. While living In DeLand, she was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was the past secretary of the United Methodist Women, played in the Trinity Hand Bell Choir and was a member of the Central Florida Quilt Guild. Dolly loved her family and friends above all. She devoted her extra time to church, needlework and music where she thrived on the life-long friendships that she found in those communities.

Funeral Information
Visitation will be Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 1-2p at Yates Funeral Home Fort Pierce, followed by a funeral service at 2p at the funeral home chapel with Reverend Daniel Baker officiating. Interment will follow at White City Cemetery.
