Mrs. Sally Ann Bowers, 89, of here, died this morning in Meyersdale Community Hospital where she had been a patient one week.
A native of New Germany, she was born May 26, 1874 a daughter of the late Jacob and Harriet (Broadwater) Blocker. Her husband, George Bowers, died September 3 of this year.
Mrs. Bowers was a member of the Methodist Church of Jennings.
Survivors include two sons, William Huff, Ohio, and Ira Huff, Grantsville; two daughters, Mrs. Florence Durst and Mrs. Melva Yommer, both of here; two step-daughters, Mrs. Elva Tressler, Tennessee, and Mrs. Ermal Bittinger, Swanton; a brother, John Blocker, San Diego, California; three sisters, Mrs. Zelphia Wilt, Cumberland; Mrs. Lillie Robeson, Long Stretch; and Mrs. Effie Custer, Frostburg; nine grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren.
The body is at the Newman Funeral Home here where services will be conducted on Thursday at 2 p.m. by Rev. Emory McGraw. Interment will be in the Grantsville Cemetery.
