BURLINGTON - Richard J. Uhlenhake, 91, of Burlington, died Friday, June 10, 2011 at Mt. Carmel Medical & Rehabilitation Center. He was born February 23, 1920 in Elkhorn to Henry G. and Victoria C. (nee Spieker) Uhlenhake. He spent his early life on the family farm in Burlington Township and attended St. Mary's Grade School. He was a lifetime resident of Burlington Township. Richard was a dairy farmer and he also worked for Burlington Farm Implement for 43+ years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He enjoyed being a "grease monkey" and fixing tractors. Survivors include his siblings, Joan Holzheimer of Burlington, Patricia Gilson of Crockett, Texas, John (Mary) Uhlenhake of Burlington and Lawrence (Karla) Uhlenhake of Sturtevant. He is further survived by a sister-in-law, Ruth Uhlenhake of Kenosha, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert, Charles, Louis and Phillip, infant twin sisters, brothers-in-law, Edwin Gilson, William Holzheimer, Edward Wirth, sisters-in-law, Celesta Uhlenhake, Ann Uhlenhake and nephew, Todd Uhlenhake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 13, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Burlington with Rev. James Volkert officiating. Burial will take place on Tuesday, June 14th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Monday, June 13th from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. in Good Shepherd Chapel at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials have been suggested to St. Mary's Grade School.
