Elizabeth Brock Schessow, 79, of Arbor Drive, Lexington, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at her home.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. today, Jan. 13, 2001, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, where she was an active member, by the Rev. Jim White. Burial will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Mrs. Schessow was born April 28, 1921, in Duplin County, to Albert B. Brock and Winnie Estelle Merrit Brock. Her mother died when she was an infant, and she was raised by Hattie Lee May Holder Brock, who also preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and an avid gardener. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph H. Schessow; a son, Leland Tyndall, and a brother, Buddy Brock.

Surviving are a daughter, Beverly Schessow of Sacramento, Calif.; a son, Ricky Schessow of Oklahoma City, Okla.; five sisters, Kathleen Norris of Dunn, Ethel Bevins of Lexington, Ruby Christine Smith of Wilmington, and Mildred McGee and Rebecca Long, both of Thomasville; two brothers, Tommy Brock and Dewey Brock, both of Lexington; two grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 this afternoon at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

Memorials may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 823 Ridge Road, Lexington, N.C. 27295.
