Mrs. Mary Matilda Wellman, 82, Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Busseyville, died November 3. Mrs. Wellman was born October 6, 1892, in Lawrence County, a daughter of the late Joe and Sarah Hayes Cyrus. She was a member of the Smoky Valley Enterprise Church. Her husband, Fred Wellman died in 1948. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Garnet Haley of Phoenix; a son, Roy Wellman of Columbus, OH; five brothers, Jess Cyrus of Fort Gay, WV, Lenzie Cyrus of Flatwoods, Sheridan Cyrus of Paintsville, Frank Cyrus of Coal Grove, OH, and Raymond Cyrus of route 1, Louisa; four sisters, Mrs. John Martin of route 1, Louisa, Mrs. E. C. Pigg and Mrs. Roberta Dixon, both of Columbus and Mrs. Irene Muncy of Dayton, OH; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted November 6 at the Heston Funeral Home in Louisa by the Rev. James Arthur Hayes, and the Rev. Bruce Daniels.
