Richard was a son of Howard and Julia (McGuire) Beach. He served in the US Army and was a 47 year member of the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department, where he was a past Commissioner. He retired from the Town of Carmel Police Department on August 1, 1997 after 32 years service to the town as a police officer. He is survived by his wife Nancy Adams Beach.
