Eve was born in Marmaduke, Arkansas on January 15, 1923, the daughter of James and Winnie Nance, and was a resident of the Flint area most of her life.
She married Ralph Mumford on July 3, 1944 on Mackinaw Island.
She was a member of Eastgate Baptist Church and Women in Missions. Surviving are Children, Cindy L. and husband Jim Fuoss of Owosso and Mark L. of Mt. Morris; 6 Grandchildren, Chris McKnight, Kelly (Mike) Jansen, Tracy Combs, Wendy Skinner, Corren and Tina Mumford; 7 Great-grandchildren, Staci, Haley, Kristen, Tyler, Brandon, Cody, Sage. Sophie, Madison and Alivia; Son-in-law, Keith McKnight of Bancroft; She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen L. McKnight, on May 2, 2000; her husband Ralph ("Leo"), on December 29, 2006, her parents; 2 sisters, Meryl Walker and Carmon Payne; and 2 brothers, Carl and James Holland.
