Debra A. Zima, age 44, of 1420 Hillview Rd., Mishicot, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, as a result of an automobile accident.
Debbie was born March 30, 1966, in Manitowoc to John "Jack" and Bonita "Bonnie" Abbet Strauss and has been a lifelong area resident. She graduated for the Lincoln High School. Debbie married Donald Zima June 1, 1991, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot. She was employed by Lakeshore Latching, and Skana Aluminum. She volunteered as a clerk in the town of Gibson. Debbie was a member of the Ranch River Riding Club and It's a Chinch 4-H Club. She loved and cared for all animals, and enjoyed working with her horses.
Survivors include her loving husband: Don; one daughter: Courtney Ann Zima at home, and her special friend Paul Rahmlow; one son: Garrett Zima, at home; her parents: John "Jack" and Bonita "Bonnie" Strauss, of Manitowoc; one sister: Becky Schroeder, of Manitowoc; one brother and sister-in-law: Douglas and Amy Strauss, of Whitelaw. She is further survived by her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Gilbert and Janice Zima, of Mishicot; and by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Bob and Judy Zima, of Kenosha, Barb and Mike Lambert of Mishicot, Jerry and Connie Zima, of Mishicot; aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Herman and June Strauss; and by her maternal grandparents: Earl and Claribel Abbet.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 .m. on Thursday, Oct. 2010, at St. Isidore the Farmer, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Tisch Mills with the Reverend Dennis Drury officiating, and assisted by Deacon Bob Pribek. Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home, 344 So. State St., Mishicot. There will be a 7 p.m. parish wake service led by Deacon Bob. Visitation will continue after 9 a.m. at St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church, until the time of service at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow in the Knollwood Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.
